POSITION:               Temporary Full-Time Operations Support Clerk

                                            **Maternity/Parental Leave Contract**

                                LOCATION:             Peterborough

                                SALARY:                  TBA

 

JOB PURPOSE:

Assisting in all aspects of daily operations, which includes: ensuring overall coverage required to meet the transportation scheduling demands; and evaluating, resolving and/or recommending solutions to incidents, complaints and/or accidents. Working within a team environment to coordinate the timely delivery of our service, ensuring the highest level of safety to our customers.

 

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Crossed trained with the ability to fill all positions within the Operations department, as needed, including, 48 hour dispatch, Operations Supervisor and Assistant (both Night and Day shift)
  • Update Line-run Crews and Charter boards at signup 
  • Update Driver Control Files for vacations, days off, leaves, etc.
  • Reconcile Invoices from taxis, hotels and equipment rentals (cars/buses)
  • Arrange Equipment and vehicle rentals
  • Forecast Equipment and Manpower requirements
  • Communicate with multiple departments in order to complete a variety of task
  • Back up/relief for Building Maintenance Clerk
  • Additional tasks as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

The successful candidate should:

  • Be able to work flexible hours (including rotating shifts, nights, weekends, holidays last minute calls for sickness or emergency and vacation relief.)
  • Be able to multi-task in an extremely busy and high-energy environment
  • Have strong computer skills including Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Have strong organizational, problem solving and stress management skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills 
  • Transportation experience is an asset
  • Bilingual, ability to speak, read and write both French and English an asset
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
